The announcement that President Hosni Mubarak was resigning was made by his Vice President, Omar Suleiman. He spoke briefly in a very somber tone on national TV in Egypt.
In a translated version, Suleiman was heard saying, " President Hosni Mubarak has decided to step down as president of Egypt and has resigned the Higher Council of the Armed Forces to run the affairs of the country. " The people of Turks support the Egyptian brothers.
